Artist Statement
Vivid Vista is an exploration of light, colour, and atmosphere.
The work captures a moment of transition, as the sun begins to break through and dispel the grey sky. Luminous passages of colour emerge against shifting textures, evoking the sensation of standing before an expansive horizon.
Balancing abstraction and representation, the painting reflects the rhythm of mark-making at the heart of my encaustic process. Each layered gesture—painted, scraped, and fused—creates a surface alive with movement, echoing the shifting interplay of memory, perception, and place.
