What If (it all works out)?

As I waited for my encaustic wax to heat up, I chatted with my partner about mental health. He talked about a tendency to catastrophize, to finish what-if statements with negative outcomes. That morning he had read, “But what if it works out?” — I carried that positive message with me into the studio and finished this painting that, until then, had been hard to resolve.
